 "The Katahdin Legends"

"These are the legends of Katahdin -- the wind, Pamola; the Storm-bird, who hovers round its summit in winter; the Spirit of Katahdin, like a man in his life and loves, who, with his household, dwells inside it."

Fanny Hardy Eckstorm
