Abol Bridge Campground is a small family type area located on the West Branch of the Penobscot River at Abol Stream. This area has a great deal to offer:

Fishing - Swimming - Canoeing - Whitewater Rafting - Hiking (Appalachian Trail), plus a view of Mt. Katahdin. Deer and Moose sightings are common.

Our season extends from May 15th through September 30th.

Check - In Time: 1:00 p.m. (earlier space available) to 8:00 p.m.

Check - Out Time: Noon

Each Campsite is furnished with a picnic table and fireplace. There is a central building with flush toilets and metered hot showers.

Reservations at our Campground are recommended. It is helpful to know if you will be staying in a Tent or Trailer so we may give you the best possible of accommodations.

A deposit of $20.00 is required with each reservation. Please advise us of the number of people in your party, and dates of your stay.

We have a small General Store selling an assortment of groceries, sandwiches, ice, firewood, gasoline and LP Gas.

A FEW RULES:

RADIOS ARE NOT ALLOWED - PETS MUST BE KEPT ON LEASHES

GENERATORS MAY ONLY BE USED BETWEEN 10:30 A.M - 6 P.M. (BATTERY CHARGING AVAILABLE)

CLOTHES WASHING DONE ONLY IN OUTSIDE SINK

Abol Bridge Campground has a wide variety of Outdoor Activities available to our Guests!

We are located on private land owned by the Paper Company. It is a working forest open to recreational use. All of the roads are privately owned and maintained. For safety reasons ATV's, Bicycles and Motorcycles are prohibited on all company roads and light vehicles are asked to yield the right-of-way to the less maneuverable log trucks.
